Who can raise a dispute
Any party who believes a registry record is inaccurate, conflicts with their rights, or was verified on incorrect evidence may raise a dispute — including rights holders, platforms, distributors and legal representatives.
How to file
Email compliance@swlef.com with: the Registry ID, your relationship to the work, the specific claim, and supporting documentation. Anonymous reports are reviewed but may carry less weight without evidence.
What happens next
- The record is flagged Disputed where the claim is substantiated enough to warrant caution; its public page then warns: "This record is currently under dispute or review. Do not rely on it as final evidence."
- Both sides may be asked for further documents. Review follows the Evidence Review Methodology.
- Outcomes: status restored, status corrected, record reclassified (e.g. public metadata reference), record made private, or record expired/withdrawn.
- Status changes are recorded in the audit trail with dates.
Appeals against SWLEF decisions
A registrant may appeal a status decision once per material change in evidence by writing to legal@swlef.com. SWLEF decisions concern registry status only; they do not adjudicate legal ownership, and either party remains free to pursue courts or competent authorities.
