1. The service
SWLEF (Screen Works Licensing & Evidence Framework) is a privately operated, independent, evidence-based registry for audiovisual and media works. SWLEF organizes submitted evidence, rights scope, authorization details and audit references into structured registry records, and provides verification references for those records.
2. What SWLEF is not
SWLEF is not a court, government registry, copyright office, collecting society or platform. Registry records, statuses and certificates do not create, transfer or adjudicate legal rights, and do not replace copyright registration, judicial decisions or platform policy review.
3. Accounts
Account holders must provide accurate information and keep credentials confidential. SWLEF may suspend accounts used to submit false, misleading or infringing material, or to misrepresent registry statuses.
4. Submissions and evidence
By submitting documents you confirm that you are entitled to submit them and that they are, to your knowledge, authentic. Submitted evidence is used for review purposes as described in the Evidence Policy. Submitting material never guarantees a verified status.
5. Fees
Access fees do not create ownership, verification, licensing authority, authorization, or platform eligibility. Fees only cover registry access, document handling, evidence review workflow, or certificate retrieval depending on the selected plan. Payment alone never grants verified status.
6. Statuses and removal
SWLEF may change a record's status (including to disputed, expired, private or public-metadata reference) at any time when review, conflicts, disputes or new evidence warrant it. Appeals are handled per the Appeals & Disputes policy.
7. Liability
SWLEF provides registry records "as is" on the basis of submitted materials and internal review at the time of review. To the extent permitted by law, SWLEF is not liable for decisions made by third parties (including platforms, courts or counterparties) in reliance on registry records.
